Charlene Miranda and Sanket Bhimani planned an intimate, romantic wedding laced with New York City flair for their summer wedding at the NoMad Hotel. The intimate celebration kicked off with a traditional Catholic ceremony at Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral. To allow the beauty of the historic space shine, the couple kept the decor to a minimum, adorning the aisles with understated bundles of white and blush blooms wrapped in ribbon. A reception at the NoMad Hotel followed, where guests were treated to dinner, dancing and striking views of the Manhattan skyline. Urban elegance ruled supreme—long banquet tables draped in shimmery ivory linens, gold chargers and bouquets of blush and dusty rose blooms gave way to views of twinkling city lights and the Big Apple’s bustling streets. A canopy of lanterns and chandeliers hung overhead, casting a warm, ambient glow over the open-air space and injecting an element of whimsy to the decor. “The table names were based on places that were important to us and included Mumbai, Nairobi, Kuwait, Toronto and New York—the places where we were born and grew up, where we met and the city we now call home,” Charlene says. Dinner was a culinary delight with mini lobster rolls, foie gras and chocolate-caramel tarts pleasing even the pickiest of palates. “Part of the reason we chose the NoMad was that we are both foodies,” Charlene says. “Their food is always spectacular.” A tip from Charlene: “Plan ahead, don’t sweat the small stuff, and don’t forget to enjoy yourself.” —Libby MacCarthy
