An Elegant, Romantic Wedding at San Diego Museum of Man in San Diego, California
A self-described "sucker for romance," Millie Ortega (31 and a lead radiology technologist) planned her wedding to Ernie Castellanos (30 and a teacher) around a romantic, vintage theme brought to life with shades of blush, gold and ivory and hints of green. The couple rented out the entirety of San Diego Museum of Man for their opulent wedding, allowing all 350 guests to roam and explore the space at will. In keeping with the theme, Millie opted for a traditional ivory lace mermaid-style dress, with a satin ivory sash that tied in the back with a large bow. A nod to her husband's ancestry, she finished her look with a Spanish mantilla veil. Personal details abounded at the reception—Ernie even arrived wearing the neon sunglasses she was wearing when he and Millie met for the first time, at a wedding. And because Ernie proposed with a caricaturist drawing in Disneyland, it was appropriate that the reception included a caricaturist for the guests. —Meghan Overdeep
