An Elegant, Romantic Wedding at Hotel du Village in New Hope, Pennsylvania

Liz Lankau and Andrew Breidenbach put a refined, romantic edge on their late-summer wedding with a dramatic emerald, raspberry and gold color palette and lush bouquets of cascading blooms. “Andrew and I wanted a celebration that was true to us—easygoing and relaxed—while also incorporating some elements of elegance and vintage design,” Liz says. The Hotel du Village proved to be the perfect fit for the couple’s vision, with its old-world glamour, manicured gardens and striking natural setting. The pair took full advantage of the spot by hosting the ceremony outdoors and dinner in the venue’s stately ballroom. After the “I dos,” the newlyweds joined their guests for cocktail hour. Signature drinks were poured from a vintage wood bar, and guests mixed and mingled on the patio. Dinner was where the couple’s vision truly came to life. Emerald linens punctuated with gold accents set a glamorous tone for the décor, with cascading arrangements of roses, eucalyptus and amaranthus and bundles of fresh berries adding a fresh element scene. For a more modern touch, teal agate with gold electroplating was used as the table numbers. “The colors I incorporated into the décor matched my engagement ring—an emerald stone in a yellow gold setting with black diamonds,” Liz says. Good music was a must for Liz and Andrew, so the pair brought in a live band to ensure the dance floor was packed all night long. “We hired a traditional wedding band to play during dinner in the formal ballroom (with lots of dancing between courses!) and then moved into the second ballroom for dessert and more dancing with one of our favorite live acts, Marco Benevento and his band,” Liz says. “He had played at the LOCKN’ festival in Virginia the night before and still made it to our wedding to jam until 1 a.m. The sound engineer actually recorded the set for us, so we have a live recording of the entire concert!”
