An Elegant, Riverside Wedding at the Billingsley House in Upper Marlboro, Maryland
When Megan Brown (29 and a program manager) first met Dino Vilson (27 and a medical student) one night at a college party, she bet him that he wouldn’t remember her name after that night. He accepted the challenge, and the next day when the two ran into each other at their school’s cafeteria, he proved her wrong. Their first date was kayaking in a nearby river, so after Dino proposed at the Botanical Gardens in Washington, D.C., Megan knew she wanted to get married by a river. The couple chose to be wed at the Billingsley House in Upper Marlboro, Maryland because of its fantastic views. They held their ceremony under a large magnolia tree on the property, and celebrated afterwards on a tented terrace. The color scheme for Megan and Dino’s wedding was a rich navy blue paired with gray and orange accents. Bridesmaids wore long, blue chiffon dresses and the groomsmen and ring bearer looked handsome in gray tuxedos with navy blue vests and bow ties. The fun centerpieces at the reception were over-sized martini and wine glasses filled with crystals and orange hydrangeas, which popped against the navy tablecloths. Other flower arrangements consisted of deep blue delphiniums and dyed roses with orange gerbera daisies in blue vases. Megan and Dino’s summer soiree was colorful and elegant.
