An Elegant, Purple Wedding at St. Charles Country Club in St. Charles, Illinois

Most purple weddings are violently violet, but Alexis Stammen (24 and in healthcare services) and Eric Stammen (28 and a software engineer) took a different turn with this quirky color. "I wanted to have purple in my wedding, but I didn't want the purple to be too overwhelming," Alexis says. Matching the elegance of St. Charles Country Club, where the wedding took place, Alexis and Eric's decor was white and silver with purple accents in the form of large floral arrangements on candelabras and trumpet vases by Debi's Designs. Alexis lauded the country club's on-site coordinator. "I couldn't have done it without my amazing wedding coordinator, Carla Keeney," she says. The result, a ballroom reception draped in white linens and illuminated by candlelight, was beautifully captured by NE Photography. The floral arrangements were echoed in the bouquets with an array of purple, pink, and white dahlias, purple hydrangeas and purple, red and pink roses. These beautiful assemblages popped against the plum purple of the Donna Morgan bridesmaid dresses  and Alexis' Stella York lace wedding dress. The five tier, white wedding cake was also covered in pink and purple rose petals and dahlias. "I wanted the flowers to do most of the talking."
