An Elegant Pineapple-Themed Garden Wedding in Chesterfield, New Jersey

Alexandra (Alex) Bricker (25 and a speech-language pathologist) and Andrew planned an elegant garden wedding with a sweet pineapple theme.

“I grew up with pineapples as decorations in my house, so they have sentimental value to me,”Alex says of the spiny fruit motif the couple used on everything from the invitations to the signature drinks. “They’re a symbol of hospitality and warmth, and I wanted our guests to feel welcome, loved and cared for.”

A six-foot floral chandelier draped with ethereal white linens and string lights hung above the wood dance floor for the tented reception. The neckline of the floor-length blush bridesmaid dresses complemented Alex’s lace fit-and-flare gown.

The couple had their first dance to “Forever Like That” by Ben Rector. “My mom actually texted me the idea one day,” Alex says. “She loved it and said it always reminded her of us. We both listened to it and teared up—it was perfect.” Family and friends also helped paint more than 30 pineapples for the centerpieces.
