An Elegant Outdoor Wedding at Van Dusen Mansion in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Allen Ondrachek (30 and a product sourcing and development manager at Shutterfly) and Chris Ryan (28 and a product designer at Target) saw their wedding as an opportunity to throw a fun and light-hearted, but sophisticated celebration. Beneath an iron arch covered with vines, willow branches and baby’s breath, the couple invited their moms to take part in a unity candle ceremony, “a symbolic gesture joining our families,” Chris says. At the reception, the DJ kept the dance floor packed with a mix of everything from Prince to Britney Spears—“I loved the dance floor. Our friends and family really brought it,” Chris says. The couple then cut into their baby’s-breath-topped buttercream cake: chocolate cake with fudge and Irish cream filling and white cake with raspberry buttercream filling.
