An Elegant Outdoor Wedding at the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Florida
Brittany Ellis (26 and a wedding and event planner) and Steve Cole (30 and a PGA professional) met at a house party at Rosen College/ University of Central Florida. Even though Brittany was dating someone else at the time, it was love at first sight. The two began dating a month after meeting and Brittany quickly becoming single. The couple dated for five years, and on a cold day in January, Steve took Brittany to her parents' beach house on Anna Maria Island. Despite a hard day at work, Steve convinced her to walk on the beach where he proposed to her with her grandmother's wedding ring and her family's permission. Because of their love of the water, they decided to have their wedding close to their engagement spot. Brittany's father suggested the Powel Crosley Estate because it had both outdoor and indoor capabilities for the ceremony depending on the weather. Because Brittany is a wedding planner, she has been worked with a number of south asian weddings, so she used the bright colors of that culture to inspire her color palette. Red, purple, green, and gold were very prominent in the floral arrangements and decor of the venue. With a runway ready wedding dress, Brittany and Steve tied the knot amid the sun and smiles of family and friends. A selection of processco, hand selected wines and imported beers were served at the cocktail hour accompanied by soft background music courtesy of DJ Carl. Although Brittany is a wedding planner, she cannot stress enough the importance of hiring a day of coordinator. " I cannot tell you the value it adds to have a team of people on site to ensure every detail of your wedding occurs the way you had envisioned," says Brittany.
