An Elegant and Traditional Wedding at Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska
Reem Al-Turk (27 and a physician assistant) and Tyler Bryson (29 and a business development manager) met through common friends, dated long-distance (she was in Lincoln; he was in Omaha, an hour away) and were engaged less then two years later. Reem's vision was “a romantic and elegant wedding," a vision that came to life at the naturally beautiful Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska, where the couple had their ceremony outside in the courtyard; the cocktail hour, featuring artwork viewing, and reception were in the Fountain Room inside. The colors were gold, cream, champagne, blush, lavender and green. To add a meaningful touch to the floral arrangements, bouquets were accented with pink peonies grown in Reem's father's garden—the two cut them the day before the ceremony. Highlights included Reem's father walking her down the marble staircase, Reem and Tyler exchanging handwritten vows and sealing them in a wooden box engraved with their names and wedding date (to be revisited on their first anniversary) and mixing Arabic and American traditions, including a lively chair dance. —Chrissy Sorenson
