An Elegant Outdoor Mansion Wedding in Walnut Grove, California

Morena and Jason met online and immediately bonded over shared religious values. Although Morena lived in Toronto, Canada and Jason lived in California, that didn't stop them from building a connection through letters, cards, emails and phone calls. After five months of getting to know each other long distance, they met up in person in California. "It was an instant click," Morena says. Jason proposed to Morena on a hike at dusk in Big Bald Rock Mountain in Northern California. "As the sun set, Jason knelt down and proposed to me with his mother's wedding ring," Morena says. "It was truly special moment for both of us." The couple knew they wanted a beautiful outdoor wedding in early fall, and settled on The Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove, California. They chose this historic site because of its grand feel. "There was a gorgeous outdoor lawn, dining room and a ballrooms and amazing amenities," Morena says.During their luxe outdoor ceremony, Jason and Morena took part in a special ceremony, where they released a box of butterflies into the air. "We chose it because it symbolizes a new beginning," Morena says. "It was amazing to open the white box together and see the pretty monarch butterflies flutter out of the box, one by one."After a ballroom reception, with a full Italian buffet and fully stocked dessert bar with cake pops and assorted gourmet popcorn, Morena and Jason made a grand exit on the lawn of the mansion. As they walked out, their friends and families held sparklers in the air.
