An Elegant Oceanside Wedding at Key Colony Inn in Key Colony Beach, Florida

Kay Le Goff (25 and an ad sales planner) and Ben Davis (31 and an industrial construction engineer) exchanged vows in a beautiful oceanside ceremony at the groom’s family’s home the Florida Keys. “Shortly after we started dating, he took me there, and I immediately fell in love—with the guy and the location,” Kay says. “It’s become a special place for the both of us, so once we were engaged we knew we wanted to get married there.” With Florida’s picturesque Keys as their backdrop, the couple kept decor minimal and embraced a white color scheme with greenery and metallic accents. For the couple’s oceanside ceremony, they exchanged vows in front of a bamboo arch that was draped with ethereal fabric and embellished with flowers. During their traditional ceremony, Ben's grandmother read “He’s Not Perfect” by Bob Marley, Kay's grandmother read a series of Winnie the Pooh quotes, and Ben's aunt read the traditional wedding scripture 1 Corinthians 13. After the ceremony, cocktail hour was held at Ben’s parents' house in Marathon, Florida, where guests enjoyed appetizers and drinks before heading to the nearby Key Colony Inn in Key Colony Beach, Florida, for dinner and dancing. For their first dance, Kay and Ben were serenaded by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles’ “I Second That Emotion.” “The lyrics pretty much captured the story of our romance,” Kay says. Since the newlyweds met at a Yacht Rock concert, they played oldies from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s throughout the night. After an evening of celebration, the newlyweds' exit was illuminated by sparklers. —Marissa Hermanson
