An Elegant Multicultural Wedding at Whitestone Country Inn in Kingston, Tennessee

Andrea (29 and a teacher) met Shigeki (26 and a sales associate) while she was teaching in Nara, Japan. Shigeki was a soldier in the Japanese self defense force at the time and immediately hit it off after being introduced by mutual friends. Shigeki proposed a year later but wedding planning became complicated after Andrea moved back to America without Shigeki while he awaited his visa. With the help of Skype, the pair arranged a classic Tennessee wedding at Whitestone Country Inn in Kingston that incorporated both of their Japanese and Jewish cultures. The historical chapel ceremony was followed by a refined ballroom reception with a pink and blue color scheme and hydrangea arrangements. "We had a Japanese and an American flag displayed behind the sweetheart table to highlight our nationalities and also had favors of Japanese and American candy-filled shot glasses with paper fans," says Andrea. "We just wanted a classic feel with some rustic hunts that combined our different backgrounds!"
