An Elegant, Multicultural Wedding at Beaulieu Garden in Rutherford, California
Kristina Shen (28 and in finance) and Gautam Gupta (35 and in technology) wanted to celebrate their Chinese and Indian cultures in a sophisticated garden wedding in Rutherford, California. “I always knew I wanted an outdoor wedding in wine country,” says Kristina, who chose the well-manicured Beaulieu Garden in Rutherford, California, for the ceremony and reception. “There was also so much beautiful green everywhere on the property. We didn't need to add much more to the existing beauty.” While there were two ceremonies, the palette adhered to fresh peach, pink and blush tones. For the Indian ceremony, Gautam entered in on a decorated horse behind a walking drummer. This was quickly followed by a nondenominational ceremony led by the couple’s former boss. At the on-site reception, the 132 guests sipped on lemonade in the shade before sitting down to dinner at tables that were topped with vases of peach and pink blossoms and positioned under a shady arbor. “The hanging bubble vases hanging overhead at dinner were my favorite part of the reception decor,” Kristina says. “We had over 160 of them hanging in the arbor of the reception.” As the evening came to a close, guests enjoyed an array of Chinese and Indian treats in easy-to-eat single servings. —Carolyn Meers
