An Elegant Loft Wedding at Cider Gallery in Lawrence, Kansas

Inspired by their gallery venue’s rustic charm, Lauren Parsons (32 and an administrative assistant and singer) and Sean Ostrow (32 and an attorney) threw a fall fete filled with mixed metal details and dark wood accents.

After saying “I do” in a ceremony set against a brick backdrop, the newlyweds cut into a buttercream cake topped with fresh flowers. The dessert table included a framed Julia Child quote written in calligraphy that read: “A party without cake is just a meeting.” “That quote always makes me giggle, so a friend of mine custom designed the sign using Swarovski crystals,” Lauren says.

Allover beading and delicate buttons gave Lauren’s strapless dress a vintage feel.

During the middle of the reception, Lauren—a professional singer—performed a surprise serenade for Sean. “I sang Alison Krauss’s version of ‘When You Say Nothing At All,’” she says. “One of my favorite wedding photos is of Sean tearing up during that song.”
