An Elegant Lakeside Wedding at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada
Stu (40, Biotech) proposed to Melissa (32, Nurse Anesthetist) as they crossed the Peace Bridge, a bridge that connects the American-Canada border, which was the perfect union for American Melissa and Canadian Stu. "The proposal was special, as crossing the bridge signifies the joining of America and Canada as one in the middle," Melissa says. The couple chose to have a small wedding, with immediate family only, at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada. The result was a fun filled weekend with a welcome dinner on Friday where guests enjoyed poutine, a morning brunch, hike in the mountains and a Pub Night on Saturday and then a Sunday ceremony. The couple wrote their own vows and incorporated a traditional Celtic handfasting to honor Stu's heritage. After the ceremony, the small wedding party headed over to an intimate room overlooking Lake Louise at the Fairmont Chateau and enjoyed a five course sit down dinner which was the perfect cap on a fun, relaxing weekend with their families.
