An Elegant Hotel Wedding at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, California

Lauren Opet (33, a teacher) and Rob Deutsche (32, a technical supporter) met through a mutual friend at a college alumni barbeque, and in no time began to date each other. After they both discovered their mutual passion for traveling the world, Rob surprised Lauren with a trip to Palm Springs, California, and once they got back to their beachside community, he proposed with a diamond ring. The couple had their wedding at Shutters Santa Monica in California, an elegant and luxurious hotel in Los Angeles where they could have their romantic wedding with a waterfront view. Wedding invitations had green wreaths with the couple’s initials designed by Crane, and a color palette of blush, apricot, gray, cream and green decorated the venue for the wedding day. On the cocktail menu, each drink was named after a special event that happened in their relationship, along with Rob incorporating craft beers into the mix as well. “We wanted our day to feel intimate and special, along with classy but not over the top formal,” says Lauren. “We felt that having it at an upscale venue on the beach was the perfect fit, and we wanted everyone to have a fun time, eat well, drink plenty, and dance a lot all night.”
