An Elegant, 'Great Gatsby' Wedding at Grant-Humphreys Mansion in Denver, Colorado
Lisa Stone (31) and Carver Stone (33 and an engineer) had their 'Great Gatsby'-inspired wedding at Grant-Humphreys Mansion in Denver, Colorado, where they used decor in white, cream and pink colors with warm candlelight to create a beautifully elegant space. "We knew from the beginning of planning that we wanted our wedding to have an elegant, vintage feel," Lisa says. Laura Murray Photography captured the beautiful wedding from the outdoor ceremony with a red carpet aisle runner to the indoor, elegant reception. Drawing inspiration from her mother's wedding dress, Lisa wore an Augusta Jones strapless, lace wedding dress with a cathedral veil with detailed lace edging. She accessorized her look with jewelry that all have special meaning to her. "I wore a pendant made by my grandfather, a bracelet that belonged to my Nana and pearl earrings that belong to my mom," Lisa says. Her two sisters acted as her bridesmaids and wore coral pink, floor-length dresses with sequin detailing reflective of the "Great Gatsby" style. The wedding's florist, Flowers Forever Designs, created pretty arrangements of roses in various shades of pink, adding pops of color throughout the day. It was important to Lisa and Carver that their wedding elements incorporated plenty of "Great Gatsby"-inspired elements. "We had a jazz band play during cocktail hour, drinks were served in champagne coupes and candelabras were placed on all the dinner tables," Lisa says. Tables were even named after different characters throughout the "Great Gatsby" movie, along with the author of the original book, F. Scott Fitzgerald. "Overall, the day was better than we could have imagined," Lisa says. "It felt so wonderful to be surrounded by such great people on such a special day."
