An Elegant, Glam Wedding at the Rainbow Room in New York, New York
"We hit it off instantly," Taryn Adler (32 and a freelance writer) says of meeting her husband, Samuel Blank (37 and a real estate developer) at Surf Lodge, a Montauk, New York, mainstay. On a rainy evening not long after, Samuel proposed at their Greenwich Village apartment with the help of hundreds of rose petals. "Sam didn't share my vision of a barefoot beach wedding for two, so we decided on a classic New York City bash," Taryn says of planning their spring nuptials at the iconic Rainbow Room in midtown Manhattan. "The moment we walked into the restaurant, we knew that was where we were going to marry." Towering cherry blossom centerpieces and crystal-draped candelabras topped reception tables, but the most memorable detail came in the form of a little unexpected sunshine. "Samuel's father passed away the week of our wedding, so the ceremony was incredibly emotional," Taryn says. "Our wedding day was rainy and overcast, but at the start of our ceremony, the sun came out in the most intense way and lit up the entire 65th floor of the room. We walked down the aisle knowing his father was beaming down at us."—Rachel Sylvester
