Malorie Oriente-Padilla (26, a psychotherapist) and Jeff Ely (32, an entrepreneur) met while attending graduate school at the University of Texas in Austin. Jeff went to celebrate a joint birthday party at the nightclub where Malorie worked, and Jeff struck up a conversation that led to a serious relationship. While they were on vacation in Jamaica, the couple had dinner at a restaurant right on the water all to themselves. It was that night Jeff asked Malorie to marry him, and so the wedding planning began! Malorie and Jeff fell in love with the Twin Oaks House and Gardens in San Macros, California, where there was a gorgeous historic estate and lush romantic gardens for the perfect outdoor wedding. The garden is where the ceremony took place, and  was the inspiration behind the whimsical wedding theme. The pink and peach color palette and accents of gold was incorporated into the flower arrangements, from the bouquets and boutonnieres to the table centerpieces. The space truly created a magical feeling in the air that both the couple and guests got to enjoy on the wedding day.

“My wedding dress was one of a kind and allowed my imagination to come to life,” says Malorie. “It was a strapless ball gown with a sweetheart neckline and dropped waist, made with tulle and lace. The bodice was sprinkled with lace flowers and iridescent sequins. It was truly a dress for a princess and I felt so lucky to be in it. When I tried on this dress I knew it was perfect— I felt like a floating cloud!”
“We got married at Twin Oaks House and Gardens in San Marcos, California,” says Malorie. “We absolutely fell in love when we took a tour at this historic estate. The venue is tucked inside of a lush garden and it screams romance with the trickling fountains, rose-covered arbors, statues and twinkling lights.”

“The groomsmen looked very dapper in their charcoal fitted tuxedos paired with peach bow ties,” says Malorie. “The groom was handsome dressed in a light grey tuxedo, paired with a white bow tie. It was a subtle variation from the groomsmen— just enough to stand out and compliment the group aesthetically.”
“My wedding day fashions were vintage inspired—I wanted lace and shades of pink and peach,” says Malorie. “The bridal party was absolutely stunning! The bridesmaids wore peach lace dresses paired with coral heels and teardrop earrings.”
“Theme of the wedding was inspired by a garden—magical, whimsical, romantic, colorful, alive,” says Malorie. “Our color palette was drawn from shades of pink and peach with a vibrant green backdrop and gold accents. The bridesmaid’s carried bouquets of white hydrangeas and roses in shades of light pink and peach.”
“It feels like you are being swept away into another era because of the antique décor and details,” says Malorie. “The ceremony is held outdoors in the garden and the reception is in the tented pavilion, which is decorated with glamorous chandeliers. It is a dream!”

At the tented reception, white tablecloths dressed the tables and had gold plates with peach napkins set for guests.
