An Elegant Garden Wedding at The Kampong in Miami, Florida

If you ask her childhood cat, Ashley Nobbe (30, Southeast regional recruiter for retail development at Michael Kors) and Zachary Winkler (31, senior associate of retail services at CBRE) were always destined to be together. “When I was 14, I was obsessed with love and finding my Mr. Wonderful,” says Ashley. “One afternoon while daydreaming and trying to do homework, my cat, Coco, walked across my keyboard and spelled out “Zak.” My girlfriends and I would always joked that I would one day end up with a Zach.” In reality, the couple met through a mutual friend at a bar in New York City. Three years later, Zach proposed. While Ashley had helped design her engagement ring, the timing of their engagement was still a mystery. He asked her to marry him after a long weekend in the Hamptons. “I was about to put down my bag when he hugged me and said ‘That was a really nice weekend and do you know what would make it even better?’ He dropped down on one knee in our kitchen and asked me. I said yes,” says Ashley. Soon after, the couple moved to Miami, Florida and began to plan their wedding. Pinterest was integral to designing their special day. “I had about 20 secret boards that were catalogued by item,” says Ashley. “Our engagement was long, so I took my time and really enjoyed the process.” One year and six months later, her and Zach had a romantic moss accented celebration with 72 members of their friends and family.
