An Elegant, Formal Wedding at The Neighborhood Club of Quincy in Quincy, Massachusetts

When planning their wedding, Megan McDermott (26 and a registered nurse) and Brian McDermott (27 and a certified public accountant) wanted to make sure their guests could easily travel to their venues. They decided to have their wedding ceremony at St. Lawrence Church in Brookline, Massachusetts, where Megan's dream of a church ceremony could come to life. Then they moved the wedding to a formal space at The Neighborhood Club of Quincy in Quincy, Massachusetts, for their elegant reception. Megan's dress from David's Bridal inspired the formal style depicted throughout the day. The strapless ball gown featured a sweetheart neckline and black-lace accents that first inspired Megan's idea for an elegant style. "The black details in my dress reminded me of elegance, which was a reason we chose a more formal theme," she says. Megan and Brian added teal to their black and white color palette for a pretty pop of color. Coleen's Flower Shop created the bouquet and boutonnieres using all-white calla lilies that matched the calla lily accents found in the wedding stationery. The reception decor was kept simple, yet still carried the elegant style. For centerpieces, Megan and Brian chose to not use flowers, but instead opted for black lanterns with candles that sat atop mirrors with teal plates. Katie and Steve from Floor Three Photography captured the entire day taking photos of every happy moment Megan and Brian shared. "I want to thank Katie and Steve for all of their hard work in depicting the joy of the day in something we can cherish forever," Megan says.
