An Elegant, Formal Garden Party Wedding at The Cleveland Museum of Art in Cleveland, Ohio

Carolyn Beringer (26 and a brand manager) and Patrick Irvine (29 and a hedge fund vice president) combined The Cleveland Museum of Art’s sophisticated aesthetic with dramatic cranberry, slate and gold details to create a winter garden party.

To soften the museum’s unique mix of modern and classical architecture, the couple filled the vast atrium space with a living wall of greenery, trees and tall arrangements. Jacquard ivory linens, gold-beaded chargers and gilded cutlery added a festive flair to the tablescapes, as did the newlyweds’ recessional to the sounds of a bagpiper.

“I had 10 bridesmaids, so I wanted to choose a dress color that was neutral and would photograph well,” Carolyn says of the convertible, slate-gray gowns. “Ultimately, I just wanted all of my friends to be comfortable and feel beautiful.”

Two must-haves for the couple: good music and a mouthwatering menu. A live band played throughout the night, while guests were treated to a postparty indulgence. “As if everyone hadn’t eaten enough already, we brought in a food truck from Swenson’s, our favorite burger spot,” Carolyn says.
