An Elegant Fall Wedding at Baby Doll House in Greenville, Mississippi
At Hollywood Plantation’s Baby Doll House in Greenville, Mississippi, Magan Bruton (24 and a special education teacher) and Keith King (27 and an agronomist) celebrated their newlywed status with a giant bash surrounded by 450 friends and family members. “I knew I wanted to have my reception at Baby Doll House from the first time I saw it,” Magan says of the venue, which was featured in the 1956 movie “Baby Doll.” “Keith and I love the Mississippi Delta so much, and this house is the epitome of the South.” For their fall nuptials, the lovebirds outfitted their venue with marsala hues (Pantone’s color of the year in 2015). Along with an autumnal color scheme, fruits and vegetables like pumpkins, pomegranates and persimmons were incorporated into decor. Floral arrangements included marsala-colored peonies, peach amaryllis, garden roses, tulips, hydrangeas and seeded eucalyptus for texture. The couple’s L-shaped tent was draped in luxurious chiffon fabric and outfitted with French chandeliers. And the dance floor at the reception was covered with a transparent-topped tent that was lit with romantic string lights. Memorable highlights include local artist Gary Waters creating a live painting of the bride and groom and the couple’s first dance to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours).” —Marissa Hermanson
