An Elegant Double Wedding at Chandler Hill Vineyards in Defiance, Missouri

Mary Fester (29 and a graduate student at Saint Louis University) and Christopher Barber (33 and founder and CEO of CogniRF LLC) met at VooDoo Fest in New Orleans. Erin Fester (24 and a nanny) and Nick Bouse (26 and an account manager at Veterans United House Loans) met through mutual friends at Mizzou. The two sisters share everything, including their wedding day, and got married side-by-side in a double wedding. The double wedding, which started as a joke between the two sisters, suddenly seemed to make perfect sense when they both got engaged around the same time. “People who knew us well thought it was an awesome idea, and weren’t surprised! Only a few people thought it was strange. A wedding is about getting married, bringing families and friends together and not getting worked up over napkin colors. Perhaps it sounds cheesy, but it’s true!” says Mary. “Happily for us, the planning was mostly a breeze, and we had a blast doing it. The day was everything we hoped for and more. It didn’t feel like two separate weddings under one roof, it was one (amazing) wedding that happened to have two couples instead of one.” The couples wanted their wedding to feel elegant and effortless with minimal decor and lots of flowers. With a simple blush and ivory color scheme, the couple added some flair with gold and glass accents.
