An Elegant Country Wedding at Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez, California

Brianna Meyer and Dave Medeiro looked to lush florals, a soft, muted color palette and rustic touches to give their early spring wedding an elegant English countryside edge. As self-proclaimed European history aficionados, the couple felt right at home among Kestrel Park’s rolling hills, 17th-century-style Norman Barn and expansive gardens brimming with colorful crops and fruit trees. When it came to the design decisions, the pair opted for elements that complemented the venue’s natural, fuss-free vibe, including French country chairs, hand-lettered signage on hand-torn paper, vintage bell jar seating charts and a rustic wood rowboat that doubled as the welcome table. Unique-to-the-couple details included a custom-created wax seal modeled after Dave's favorite vintage coin (he’s an avid collector) on the invitation suites, the couple’s favorite coffee table books styled on the reception’s lilac and cream-tone lounge vignette, and a decadent cheese display (Brianna’s favorite food) crafted by Via Maestra 42. Brianna’s tiered Marchesa ball gown, with its tulle skirt and delicate floral appliqués, was chosen as an ode to her years as a professional ballerina. The couple’s family played an important part in ensuring the festivities went off without a hitch—Brianna’s sister and matron of honor planned and coordinated the whole affair, and her brother-in-law served as ceremony officiant. “I’m lucky that my sister has her own event planning company, but her guidance and design mind made the planning much more enjoyable and the wedding day so smooth and beautiful,” Brianna says.
