An Elegant, Classic Wedding at Renaissance Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, Illinois

Anthony Tufano (34 and a compliance officer) and Krista Carron (30 and an artist and art educator) met while both attending a Fourth of July Party that neither of them wanted to attend. According to Krista, Anthony followed her around all night like a "lost puppy." Little did she know she would one day marry this lost puppy! After working together to design an engagement ring, Anthony surprised Krista with the ring on a Sunday morning at home and proposed. The newly engaged couple had originally written off the Renaissance Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, IL due to cost. But after spontaneously visiting the hotel, they quickly changed their minds. "The venue and the wedding dress set the tone for the wedding," Krista said. "We wanted classic and elegant with a touch of old hollywood." Krista's off-the-shoulder dress was reminiscent of gowns worn by classic old hollywood actresses. Their color palette was midnight blue, winter green, and white. A lot of the decor was DIY. Pinecones picked from Krista's parents' yard were made into holders for the place cards. Table numbers were vintage wedding photographs from past family weddings. Krista and her sister designed all of the art deco for the printed material. "Everything at our wedding focused on the celebration with family and friends, which reflects who we are as a couple," Krista said.
