An Elegant Black-and-White Wedding at Scranton Cultural Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania
Instead of centering their wedding style around a color palette, Megan Mulderig (34 and a physical therapist) and Michael McAndrew (37 and an attorney) used texture to add pizzaz to their wedding. The most striking detail at their reception was the ivory rosetted linens that covered the dining tables. They provided the foundation for beautiful tablescapes that featured tall candelabras and all-white centerpieces. To add texture to the flower arrangements, Megan and Michael's florist from John Mackey Design used flowers with distinctly different kinds of petals like hydrangeas, roses and spider chrysanthemums. Even Megan's mermaid-style Maggie Sottero wedding dress showcased texture with its beautiful ruffled tulle skirt. To allow the textured elements to take the spotlight, Megan and Michael chose a simple black-and-white color palette with blush and gold accents for the rest of their wedding details including the black bridesmaid dresses, the blush bouquets and the white wedding cake with blush roses and a gold cake topper. The color palette perfectly complemented the vintage-style ballroom at the Scranton Cultural Center, where their reception took place. The hall featured ornate wood ceilings, a balcony that wrapped around the room, and a stage area where the Don Eaton Band set up shop for the evening. At the end of a fun night of celebrating and dancing, Michael surprised everyone by taking the mic to serenade his new bride. Two Sticks Studios was there to capture every moment!
