After a traditional Bengali prewedding ceremony with Hawaiian touches to honor their heritages, Moury Minhaz (31 and a medical researcher) and Chris Alexader (30 and a designer and digital marketing specialist) married in a botanical-filled space the following day.

While vibrant yellow and red details signified the couple’s “bright beginning” at the Bengali celebration, more subtle hues, like ivory and green, gave the wedding day at the garden an ethereal, natural feel. “We didn’t want to overpower the natural beauty,” Moury says of the refined palette.

Gilded candelabras and bouquets of sweet peas, lisianthus and hydrangeas kept an air of elegance in the light-filled Clark Hall. Moury donned a solid gold tiara her parents gifted her at just 3 years old, as well as her mother’s bangles as her “something borrowed” and “something blue.”
