An Elegant Barn Wedding at The Barn on Walnut Hill in North Yarmouth, Maine
A barn wedding in Maine with the “je ne sais quoi” loveliness of Provence. Katie’s family and two older sisters grew up in Provence in southeastern France, and she wanted to pay homage to such an amazing background by incorporating it into her wedding. The table runners and wedding programs were sewed by hand (by her sister Brigid, in fact), the dinner was served family-style and was designed around Katie’s mom’s recipes and her famous Chicken Provencal (menus on the table included the recipe too!). The flower arrangements were assembled by Katie’s aunts and sisters, using Katie’s mom’s amazing French Biot glass collection and dozens of pieces of vintage crackle glass filled with white flowers, lavender and herbs. The touch of the Perrier bottles with striped straws was a great touch during cocktails. Katie’s family is extremely artistic, so the guest book was two canvases resting on easels, which guests were invited to paint their self portrait. Katie wore an amazing Vera Wang dress, Prada shoes and Christian Dior earrings. The groom looked dashing in an Giorgio Armani tux. The bridesmaids took their cue from Angelina Jolie’s sartorial Oscar moment of a little black dress with green earrings (the bride collected some stunning vintage pairs for each of her bridesmaids to choose from).
