An Elegant, Barn Wedding at Murray Hill in Leesburg, Virginia

Alicia Haselton (30, research analyst) and Aaron Scarborough (31, financial analyst) were united by a game of catch phrase. The two had many mutual friends but they had never gotten a chance to know each other until one fateful night, when their friends decided to play the game of words and wits. Alicia happened to sit next to Aaron and they got to talking. A few years later, Aaron proposed to Alicia while hiking at Humpback Rocks in Charlottesville, Virginia. Their stunning wedding took place at the Murray Hill estate in Leesburg, Virginia. The outdoor ceremony had scenic views of the Potomac River while the barn was transformed into a breathtaking reception venue, with sheer champagne linens draped across the ceiling and string lights shimmering along with the chandelier. Floral arrangements of white dahlias, blush roses and sprigs of lavender contrasted beautifully with the navy, gold and ivory color palette. The wedding party dressed in navy, gray and nude, with fun pops of hot pink in Aaron’s tie and Alicia’s heels. On her bouquet wrap Alicia attached heirloom engagement rings to pay homage to generations of women in her family. Guests had a blast at the reception, drinking local beers and wine, enjoying the popcorn bar and the buttercream wedding cake and dancing the night away alongside the Potomac River.
