An Elegant Barn Wedding at Crooked Willow Farms in Longmont, CO
Tiffany Ocvirk (29 and a musical theatre performer) and Luke Chmielewski (28 and an occupational therapist) met on Christian Mingle and instantly hit it off--despite her living in Colorado and him in Australia! On his next trip to America, Luke asked if they could meet, so they met up in Colorado, where, "it wasn't love at first sight with birds and angels singing, but there was something so comfortable, easy, and right about us together," Tiffany says. Luke took the chance and officially asked her out before flying back to New Zealand to start a new job. They carried on a long distance relationship across the globe, traveling back and forth for short visits, before Luke proposed over Easter weekend at Garden of the Gods two years later. For their wedding, Luke and Tiffany chose a barn venue at Crooked Willow Farms in Longmont, Colorado. Inspired by the country-style venue, Tiffany and her bridesmaids wore distressed cowboy boots, while the groomsmen wore gray pants with brown suspenders and matching brown shoes. Tiffany's mother helped include the sentimental elements, like flower girl dresses made out of her own wedding gown and a locket passed down from Tiffany's great grandmother as the bride's wedding present. The cocktail hour and reception had a variety of party games, including the shoe game, lawn games, a pi?ata, and I Spy. As Tiffany is a dancer, she choreographed the first dance and her father-daughter dance. Guests watched while dining from a large buffet with an ice cream bar and s'mores for dessert instead of a traditional wedding cake. As a nod to Luke's Australian heritage, Luke and Tiffany had kangaroo lollipops in the centerpieces that guests could take home as favors.
