An Elegant Ballroom Wedding at The Westin in Indianapolis, Indiana
With a blush, ivory and gold color palette, Dimitra Bourgis (27 and an accountant) and Alex Wesling's (29 and a freight broker) wedding was an elegant and romantic affair. Each color was perfectly balanced throughout the reception decorations and table linens at The Westin in Indianapolis, Indiana. The gold chiavari chairs paired perfectly with the blush napkins, capturing the color palette in every detail. The lush floral arrangements in the high and low centerpieces, gorgeously arranged by Lilly Lane, were the highlight of each table, adding dimension to the vaulted-ceiling ballroom. The couple tied the knot at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Each pew was adorned with hydrangeas, roses and lilies, but the altar was left bare because they loved the natural marble steps and gold detailing as the backdrop. One of our favorite details was Dimitra's Lea-Ann Belter A-line wedding dress, which had a complete lace overlay instead of on the bodice. She accessorized with a beaded belt across the bodice, which complemented her crystal headband. Instead of a traditional American bustle, Dimitra used a French bustle for her train. Instead of hooking the train from underneath the skirt, she tied strings together on the outside, creating a flap that protects the dress. Don't even get us started on the soft pink and ivory sugar flowers cascading down the four-tiered wedding cake. It was completed with a beautiful dancing bride and groom figurine -- perfect for the dance-loving couple.
