An Elegant Autumnal Wedding at a Private Home in Dardanelle, Arkansas
Libby Crom and Chris Pledger’s intimate farm wedding in the heart of Arkansas featured rich, autumnal colors; chic, Provençal details; and an incredibly cute pup!
The couple took advantage of the picturesque landscape, hosting both the ceremony and reception outdoors. Wooden pews from the church that Libby attended while growing up lined the grassy aisle leading to a custom arch draped with eucalyptus, roses and dahlias in seasonal hues.
To ward off rain on the day of the wedding, Libby and Chris followed an old Southern tradition. “Chris and I buried a full bottle of Maker's Mark upside down on October 11— exactly one month before the wedding—in hopes that we’d have clear skies for our big day. And it worked!” Libby says. “We dug up the bourbon on our wedding day to share with our wedding party.”
The reception took place only a few short steps away from the ceremony site. Long farm tables surrounded by inviting cross-back chairs dotted the lawn, each decorated with white pillar candles and garlands of greenery to achieve an elegant, organic look. Bistro lights hung overhead, casting a warm glow as night began to fall over the homestead.
“Our favorite part of the whole wedding was dancing the night away with our friends and family,” Libby says. After entering the reception under an arch of vintage golf clubs—a nod to how the couple met—the newlyweds kicked off the evening’s entertainment with their first dance to Van Morrison’s “Crazy Love.”
