An Elegant and Romantic Wedding at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, Michigan

Brian Nadeau, 26, a doctor, married Andrea Connor, 27, a lawyer, in a classic and romantic wedding in Rochester, Michigan. The couple first met at a mutual friend's wedding when Brian asked Andrea to dance. After dating throughout law and medical school, Brian surprised Andrea, a huge Disney fan, with a proposal at Disney World's Beauty and the Beast attraction. "Live characters told the story of how Belle and the Beast fell in love," she says. "At the end, Brian told me he wanted to look at the fireplace and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him." The couple held their ceremony and reception at Meadow Brook Hall, a historic estate and gardens. "We chose this location because of its classic beauty and elegance," Andrea explains. A color palette of blush, gold and ivory helped portray a soft and romantic, yet elegant and classic look. Following the outdoor ceremony, guests attended a cocktail hour on Meadow Brook's terrace. A string quartet played as everyone mingled and drank signature cocktails. "Museum curators also led tours of the historic estate during the cocktail hour, which we loved, and so did our guests," Andrea says. The celebration then continued at the tented reception, where the tables were decorated with floral centerpieces, mercury vases, tea lights and gold chargers. A lobster and filet dinner was served along with wedding cake and a display of sweet treats for dessert. "So many elements of our day reflected Brian and I as a couple, but I will never forget our first dance," says the bride. "We danced to 'Tale as Old as Time' from 'Beauty and the Beast,' which is so cheesy, but it was so special to us and also to many of our guests."
