An Elegant, Flower-Filled Wedding at Meadowood in St. Helena, California
After years spent traveling from their hometown of Houston to Napa Valley, Alix Udelson and Justin LaPoten decided to wed at the beautiful Meadowood. Their wedding was elegant, timeless and colorful—an aesthetic that was introduced in the wedding invitations with a delicate floral design. In fact, the entire celebration boasted vibrant flowers that looked "overgrown, somewhat imperfect and garden like—much like the type you'd find in the Cotswolds," Alix says. The Reform Jewish ceremony took place outside on Meadowood's golf course. "Using my grandfather's tallit from his bar mitzvah as the cover for our chuppah was very sentimental and important to us, a signifier that he was with us and the rest of the family," Alix says. The chuppah overflowed with colorful flowers and was situated between two asymmetrical trees in front of a pond full of swans. After the ceremony, guests attended a cocktail hour, where a white bar with hand-painted flower designs wowed and four signature drinks, including a lemon drop with wafers depicting their French bulldog, Oliver, were served. Guests ate a three-course dinner beneath an elegant reception tent. Neutral tables held tall centerpieces, and a robust floral chandelier with greenery hung above the head table. A five-tier wedding cake with fondant flowers ended the night on a sweet note.
