An Effortless, Bohemian Wedding at Isola Farms in Groveland, Florida
Amid Spanish moss–covered trees and a quaint farm, Tamara Checo (32 and an interior designer) and Matthew Kauffman (35 and a yacht rigger) created an effortlessly chic, bohemian-style wedding.
Guests sat on benches and vintage pews under the trees, while horses looked in on the ceremony. “I tried to keep it simple, to not take away from the natural surroundings,” Tamara says. During the recessional, guests showered the couple with lavender held in cones made from book pages.
Matthew sported a dark blue suit and gray tie, while Tamara wore a champagne, trumpet-style dress.
The wedding party included their son, niece and goddaughter.
Shades of dusty blue, blush, ivory and sage green rounded out the palette at the wedding, highlighted by the mismatched bridesmaid dresses. Those same elements appeared at the reception, which included succulents at each setting as well as on the cake. “It was everything I imagined,” she says.
To celebrate, friends and family cheered Tamara and Matthew on as they exited. “The guests lit up the way with sparklers,” Tamara says. The party went on without a hitch, with one exception. “Our getaway car never showed up,” she admits. They lucked out by catching a ride in a friend’s limo for their grand exit.
“I wanted eucalyptus, blush and ivory flowers, and succulents throughout the décor,” Tamara says.
