An Edgy, Rock & Roll Wedding at The Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, California
Danny Contreras (27 and a police office) and Jennifer Larson (29 and a real estate marketer) had been former co-workers but didn't meet until a night out with a mutual friend. Neither Danny nor Jenny thought anything of it until meeting again a few weeks later. That night they hit it off and began dating almost immediately. They dated for two and a half years until Valentine's Day when Danny planned an elaborate and clever proposal. He had been giving her small notecards throughout the night and when they made it back to their resort, he presented her with a backlight that, when shined on the cards, spelt out "Will you marry me?". The fun and elaborate proposal was only the first sign of the edgy, nontraditional wedding to come. Danny and Jen held their reception and ceremony at The Hard Rock Hotel in their favorite city of San Diego, a venue they chose for its originality and rock & roll vibe. Dressed in the grooms favorite color, the bridesmaids and groomsmen popped in purple against the white and gray color palette of the venue. The bride and groom wanted their wedding to feel like a party from start to finish so guests were handed champagne as they arrived to the ceremony and later treated to an open bar that served throughout the night. The reception was decorated in the same vibrant purples and grays with tall floral centerpieces and candles on every table. Dinner was served buffet style to allow options, an idea that also served in the dessert bar of cookies, cupcakes, macaroons, mini cakes and more. Rounding out the rock & roll theme was an 80's cover band called Flashpants that kept the reception lively and full or surprises.
