An Eclectic Wedding at Tradewinds Island Resorts in St. Pete Beach, Florida

Rather than sticking to one definitive theme, Jen Rosen (26) and Matt McKinley’s (27) wedding was filled with their favorite rustic, romantic and vintage-style details for a personalized celebration. Stephanie A Smith Photography was there to document every detail as the day started with a lantern-lined beach wedding and ended in a fun tented reception at Tradewinds Island Resorts covered with pink uplighting. The teams at Eventually Yours and Two Birds Events helped to bring in their favorite elements -- including a whimsical vine-wrapped wedding arch. “Living in California, bougainvillea flowers grow everywhere, so I designed my ceremony arch with those flowers in mind. I didn’t know they don't grow in Florida, are covered in thorns or are notoriously difficult to work with,” says Jen. “But Alexis and her team knew it was important to me and somehow made it happen.” The couple’s florist also created low and tall pink-rose-accented centerpieces for the reception. Another impressive detail was Jen’s ornate A-line wedding dress. “I searched through what seemed like every dress shop in California, Florida and New Jersey to find the perfect wedding dress,” says Jen. “And go figure, I ended up finding it a couple miles from my apartment at Panache Bridal in Beverly Hills.” The boutique pros helped her find an A-line Justin Alexander wedding dress covered in floral appliques and beading. A tip from Jen: “If you and your fiance find something you like and agree on, do it! For instance, if the first venue you look at happens to be amazing and you both like it, jump on it. It took me months to decide on each detail of our wedding. If I found something great, I would still continue searching just to make sure there wasn't anything greater out there. Save yourself some time, energy and mental health and don't drag out each and every decision.”
