Amanda Scott (34, an executive producer who works in television) and Ryan Soroka (31, the vice president of Frontier Kemper) met outside of a bar in 2008 and quickly started dating. About three years later, the couple was relaxing by their pool when Ryan proposed. He said “I feel like we should be celebrating.” When Amanda asked why, he went down on one knee, she says. Within a year they were wed at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. Decorated in shades of green, gold, coral, pink and white, the couple had an outdoor wedding and indoor reception at the venue. “For our ceremony, we hung glass orbs with florals at different levels, which gave the look a dreamy feel. We wanted everything to be green,?and spring filled,” says Amanda. “We wanted the vibe to feel abundant and filled to the brim with light and energy.” The Organic String Quartet played contemporary music throughout the couple’s ceremony and cocktail hour. After enjoying signature cocktails named with the couple’s middle names, Amanda, Ryan and their guests went inside for a reception decorated with white linens, gold fabric covered chairs, vintage postcard table numbers as well as low arrangements of colorful roses and garden roses. The couple’s sweetheart and dessert tables were decorated with champagne rosette detailed linens. After a seated meal, Amanda and Ryan served their guests a series of miniature desserts and a piece of their fun wedding cake. The couple displayed their sense of humor with a confection shaped like a large prenuptial agreement and two books: “Marriage for Dummies” and “Men are from Mars.” The night ended with each guest dancing to the couple’s band, Rembrandt and leaving with a personalized recyclable bags.

Amanda and Ryan's 190 guests received a simple aqua bordered card with an orange flag detail.
Amanda and Ryan included several glass accents in their ceremony decor including a glass bottle for their vows and hanging clear glass orbs filled with roses.
Amanda and Ryan held their wedding at the Sherwood Country Club for multiple reasons. Specifically, they considered it “ one of the most beautiful, picturesque locations for a wedding ever,” says Amanda.
Amanda chose a white Junko Yushioka wedding dress with a corset back and spaghetti straps. It was accented with a ruche detail on the bodice.
Amanda and her bridesmaids carried bouquets inspired by antique and French botanical prints, says Amanda. Each included arrangements of roses, garden roses and peonies.
Each bridesmaid wore a light pink or coral chiffon knee-length Amsale dress in their chosen style.
The couple’s sweetheart table and dessert tables were decorated with a romantic champagne linen with rosette detailing. The sweetheart table was distinguished with a “Love is Sweet” banner.
Each reception table was decorated with a vintage postcard and low arrangement of pink garden roses, peach roses and greenery in a gold pedestal vase.
Merengue bakery made an assortment of miniature desserts as well as a memorable and fun confection designed by the couple. It included a prenuptial agreement, “Marriage for Dummies” and “Men are from Mars” books. “I love Choco Tacos, so I had those out too,” says Amanda.
