An Eclectic, Vintage-Inspired Wedding at The Edgewood Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

It was all about location for newlyweds Elizabeth Moore (25 and a nurse) and Kevin Hartbauer (31 and works in sales), who hosted all of their wedding-related events, including the bridal shower, rehearsal dinner and reception, at registered historic sites throughout Pittsburgh. "We wanted our wedding to have a vintage vibe, and being authentic with our theme was important," Elizabeth says. Antique accents were at the forefront of their 180-guest reception, where lace linens, vintage china, gold candlesticks and stacked books adorned dining tables. "Our  home was built in 1900 and is decorated with lots of antiques," Elizabeth says. "It only seemed natural to extend parts of our personal style into our wedding design." Elizabeth accessorized her braided updo with a fern and waxflower hairpiece. Elizabeth recited her vows first during the Christian ceremony. "it was a subtle feminist nod—our own little twist on tradition," she says.  Kevin sported a burgundy dahlia on his lapel; while groomsmen wore craspedia and rosemary boutonnieres.  After exiting the ceremony to Ben E. King's "Stand By Me," the newlyweds and their wedding party boarded a former Pittsburgh public transit bus restored to its 1957 glory. "It was so fun riding around the city while people were honking and waving," Elizabeth says. "Riding together with our families and friends allowed us to spend some extra time with those most important to us." An earthy palette of gold, navy, champagne and green influenced the overall design, along with the bride's favorite flora: ferns and dahlias. Rosemary topped each place setting, and the herb made yet another appearance in one of the couple's signature cocktails. "Kevin loves puns, so we served two drinks, the 'Rosemarried' and the 'Whiskey Business,'" Elizabeth says. Additional treats included a traditional Pittsburgh-style cookie table topped with hundreds of homemade sweets.
