An Eclectic Spring Wedding at the Museum of Industry in Baltimore, Maryland

Jade Eaves (27 and a philanthropic associate) swore to herself that she would never date a customer when working at Hull Street Blues Cafe, her family’s business. But one day, Christopher McArdle (36 and a government consultant), who had recently moved to the area after returning from Afghanistan, asked Jade to an Orioles date while enjoying a drink at the cafe, and that rule was history. Chris proposed to Jade at the Orioles stadium in the rain. They were married at the beautiful Our Lady of Good Counsel, the church where Jade was baptized. The reception was held at the waterside Baltimore Museum of Industry. Although Jade was adamant that she did not want an Oriole themed wedding despite the role that the team played in her romance, she accommodated Chris’ team spirit by having a peach and coral color palette for her wedding. The peach invitations and paper goods were designed by Jade’s sister-in-law, who owns the local paper goods store, Just Ink on Paper. Jade had her bridesmaids wear mismatched Amsale dresses in peach, tan and pink, while the groom and his groomsmen wore custom-made suits from Christopher Schafer. Decor was provided as a wedding gift by the bridesmaids and kept simple at the eclectic museum, and the flower arrangements provided by My Flower Box Events included peonies, ranunculuses and daisies. Instead of the traditional wedding cake, the newlyweds surprised their guests with a visit from Miss Twist, the local ice cream truck. Jade and Chris made good use of local vendors, and their museum wedding was playful and romantic.
