The Bride Rebecca Lysen, 29, a graphic designer and art director The Groom Justin Hosek, 29, a musician and sound engineer The Date October 1 Rebecca and Justin wanted their nuptials to reflect their mutual passions: music and art. Diverse performances, combined with an eclectic color palette of purple, gray, green, and black (all fused into a watercolor motif), helped the couple achieve both the look and mood they wanted.

Rebecca handmade her necklace, which perfectly complemented the crystal detailing found on her dress.
A “huge lover of fashion,” Rebecca knew she had to have this lilac-and-charcoal Vera Wang gown when she spotted it (in The Knot magazine!).
Rebecca kept the art theme consistent throughout all the details, including the centerpieces, which were sculpture-like arrangements of succulents and spider mums in concrete planters.
The floral details on Rebecca’s peep-toe heels played off her gown.
Rebecca and Justin danced to Sweet Love, written and performed by Danielle Parente.
The menu options, including this baked brie appetizer, were sourced from local farmers and organic markets. We wanted our menu to represent our favorite foods and how we like to eat, Rebecca says.
The couple added fun personal touches to their invites, like a handwritten note, a watercolor map and a guitar-pick save-the-date.
All of the guys wore handmade boutonnieres of watercolor canvas with guitar stings and picks, keeping in line with the music-and-art theme.
The three-tiered square cake was covered in a Nutella buttercream frosting and cascading edible flowers.
With performances by friends and local bands (and even an appearance by a marching band!), music played a key role from start to finish.
The girls picked out their own short black dresses, while the guys wore simple black suits. Everyone's outfit had a touch of purple to match the bride and groom.
Rebecca made this tiled abstract painting and at the end of the night, guests picked their own pieces of the puzzle to take home as keepsakes.
Rebecca made the programs interactive (and fun!) for guests, adding games like a word search, crossword and Mad Libs.
Guests were asked to draw a favorite memory of the couple on their RSVPs. The artwork was put on display as a fun icebreaker.
