An Eclectic Jewel-Toned Wedding at Great Divide Barrel Bar in Denver, Colorado

To plan their large wedding in just five months, Nicole Townsend (31 and a surgery resident) and Mark Christian (32 and a pharmacist) found an industrial space with plenty of flexibility. The pair loved Great Divide Barrel Bar's urban aesthetic and that it paid homage to the groom’s pastime. “Mark is a home-brewer, so the venue felt really personal to us,” Nicole says. “We had fun with the beer vibe without being ‘themed.’ ” The couple included hops in their iconography, and their family-style reception was reminiscent of a German beer hall. Guests took home custom beer glasses as favors, which they also used for beer sampling during cocktail hour. Plus, all the food included a craft beer pairing. Instead of a cake, the couple showcased a doughnut wall, and partygoers helped themselves to a station with hot doughnuts and ice cream. “It was a total hit,” Nicole says. “People still talk about it!”
