Marrying on Earth Day meant an organic palette of blue, brown and green for Alexandria (Alex) Kragie (27 and a medical student) and Olamide Sanuth (31 and a scientist), who focused on incorporating DIY details and simple florals into their spring nuptials. Six months after they wed in a traditional Nigerian ceremony, the pair became Mr. and Mrs. once more when they exchanged vows against a one-of-a-kind backdrop made from hundreds of colorful paper cranes. “We had a no-fuss style,” Alex says of keeping their décor to a minimum in order to focus on memorable menu items, like savory, cheese-based appetizers and bites. “We picked the market because the venue’s catering team allowed us to serve a tasting menu of all of our favorite things.” To surprise their guests, the newlyweds performed a bachata dance to “Stand By Me” by Prince Royce, performed by a friend.
