An Eclectic, Colorful Wedding at the Neon Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada
For their colorful wedding, Erin May and Michael Bartlett chose a theme of “Old Hollywood glam meets studio 54 in Vegas.” The big day was inspired by the fashion choices—the bride surprised herself by picking a neon red wedding dress, which became the main color of the celebration. "I knew pretty quickly that my bridesmaids would be in gold because I thought gold complimented the color of my dress. Not just any gold—I wanted gold lamé because I had this vision of Studio 54 that I couldn’t shake," Erin says. The ladies carried bouquets of painted palm leaves, dried pink bunny tails, king proteas and peonies. Michael and the groomsmen wore black slim-fit tuxedos, black shirts and black bow ties. "My florist added a little bit of the tulle from my dress in their boutonnieres so they really popped against the all-black attire," Erin says. The couple kept the décor simple because they didn't want to take away from the eclectic aesthetic and historic signs at their venue. Unique details included personalized cocktail napkins, a red and gold fondant wedding cake and Vegas-inspired entertainment. "Our wedding was the very first wedding to feature the Neon Museum’s Brilliant! show," Erin says. "The production transported our guests into the history of Las Vegas through sight and sound. The show’s creator, artist Craig Winslow, brought 40 vintage signs back to life through the use of projection mapping. My guests still talk about it to this day."
