The couple chose Whatever It Is by Zac Brown Band for their first dance. We just love this band, and the song is one Scott has been playing for me since our second date, says Mary-Stuart.
A hollowed-out white pumpkin doubled as a fun vase for fall-colored flowers at the reception.
Next to the reception tent, the couple set up a smaller, separate tent solely for desserts. The sweet treats included four types of flavored popcorn and a ’Wiches of Boston station for made-to-order ice cream sandwiches.
Tasty treats like ice cream sandwiches and flavored popcorn gave guests much needed energy as they danced through the night.
The couple's look was classic and timeless: Scott wore a traditional black tuxedo and bow tie, while Mary-Stuart wore a custom gown and her mother's wedding veil.
Green moss-covered table numbers accompanied the fall-colored centerpieces on each table.
Wine stoppers in the shape of maple leaves were fitting favors.
The formal escort cards were placed inside gold envelopes and printed with white ink.
Fondant leaves trailed along the side of the four-tiered, white cake with caramel filing and maple-flavored buttercream.
Mary-Stuart's sister and sister-in-law wore floor-length, eggplant purple gowns and carried colorful bouquets.
A colorful autumn wreath surrounded the bride and groom's monograms on the cover of each program.
Tall gold candlesticks overflowed with vibrant blooms that included hydrangeas, dahlias, proteas and lilies.
White urns were filled with vibrant multicolor arrangements of hydrangeas, lilies, roses, hypericum berries, dahlias and proteas.
“I must have tried on at least 50 dresses before, in a funny twist of fate, my mom stumbled upon her own wedding dress,” Mary-Stuart says. “Turns out, it was exactly what I was looking for!” She was able to salvage almost all of the lace from her mother’s gown, which her seamstress used to create a mock turtleneck bodice for a simple, ivory satin dress that served as the “canvas” for her dream gown.
The bridesmaids held bouquets of roses, calla lilies, hydrangeas and pincushion proteas in vibrant autumn-inspired hues that popped against their eggplant-colored gowns.
Mary-Stuart carried a classic, all-white bouquet filled with roses, calla lilies and stephanotis.
Even the wine glasses were fall-inspired with thick gold bands across the top.
A bright orange calla lily popped against Scott's classic black tuxedo lapel.
The newlyweds recessed to a classic: Handel's Hornpipe from Watermusic.
A heart-shaped wreath made from autumn leaves hung on the doors of the Old North Church.
Fall-inspired colors stood out in the floral arrangements, which were a textural mix of antique hydrangeas, celosia, pincushion protea and roses.
Cigars, with custom cigar bands and matches, were available to enjoy during the reception.
The cocktail hour was held on the yacht club's porch where everyone sipped on the signature cocktail: the aptly named Marital Bliss.
Menu cards, with the same autumn wreath design found on the programs, were tucked inside napkins and placed in the center of guests' plates.
Thanks to a skilled alterationist, the intricate bodice and back of the bride's gown was made from the lace of her mother's wedding gown.
