Marissa and Brian celebrated their wedding with a ceremony at the University of Michigan Museum of Art (their Alma Mater) followed by a modern, formal reception at Earhart Manor in Ann Arbor. The couple wrote their own ceremony combining special elements from their Jewish and Catholic traditions that allowed both families to feel included. For the reception, they combined cool silver linens and bright jewel toned floral arrangements for a glam, yet elegant look.

Marissa’s Jewish heritage was incorporated into the reception with the couple dancing the hora during the reception.
The tables alternated between high and low centerpieces filled with flowers in bright, jewel tones. Roses, pincushion flowers, hydrangeas, orchids and vines were arranged in silver mercury glass vases to complement the silver table linens.
The couple headed to the university library for their first look photos. The ornate high ceilings, impressive chandeliers and stained glass windows made for a stunning backdrop.
The couple wanted to create an elegant, formal look with a hint of whimsy and glam for their reception. They chose silver table linens, chargers and chiavari chairs that allowed the bright, jewel-toned floral arrangements to pop. The tent was draped with airy fabrics and purple uplighting complemented the cool vibe.
Marissa wanted to keep her look simple with just a hint of drama. A Romona Keveza fit and flare gown with a tiered skirt was the perfect match. Her mother made a handsewn beaded belt that added a hint of glimmer to the dress.
Bright Floral Accents
Marissa wore a pair of shimmery silver Christian Louboutin peep toe heels that worked with the Old Hollywood glamour look she was after.
For the bridesmaids' look, Marissa chose Jenny Yoo's convertible Aidan dress in black for a classic, formal look that allowed each girl to choose her own style.
Marissa comes from a Jewish background, while Brian is Catholic. It was really important for the couple to have a ceremony that represented both traditions and made everyone feel included. They wrote the entire ceremony themselves, including specific traditions from each faith that were meaningful to them. One tradition they decided to use from the Jewish tradition was the Huppah, which they adorned with lush florals and a handsewn canopy made by Marissa's cousin.
Marissa's bouquet was filled calla lilies, peonies, roses and orchids in vibrant purple hues.
Marissa and Ben's letterpress invitations had a simple, yet elegant look. They used ivory card stock with a festive script typeface.
