An Artistic, Bohemian Wedding at Tierra Rejada Ranch in Moorpark, California

Vibrant jewel tones, watercolor accents and wild, romantic florals gave Lindsay Merfeld (31 and a nonprofit event manager) and Michael Angrisani’s (33 and executive producer) wedding an artistic, bohemian vibe. “Mike and I are both artistically inclined, so we wanted our wedding to feel creative and eclectic,” Lindsay says. “We spent many weekends at LA’s antiques markets and had fun adding a vintage flair to the decor.” DIY elements featured prominently in the decor, including watercolor splash stationery and hand-lettered signs, while cozy vintage lounge vignettes and colorful glassware gave the event an undeniable panache. “The lush, colorful lounge area by Pretty Vintage Rentals was beyond beautiful and Command Performance set up a fun, old-fashioned lemonade stand,” Lindsay says. The reception was an alfresco affair, letting guests take advantage Walnut Grove’s picturesque natural landscape at Tierra Rejada Ranch in Moorpark, California. Rustic wooden farm tables draped with panels of airy white fabric, a stone fireplace and strands of bistro lights created an organic, inviting atmosphere for the evening’s festivities. “I didn’t want to overpower the venue’s natural look, so we kept the centerpieces simple with gold vessels and alternated between large and small arrangements,” Lindsay says. The bundles of brilliant red and pink dahlias and roses popped against the white linens and earthy wooden accents. A tip from Lindsay: “Choose a few key priorities, and invest in them. For us, it was the venue, food and drinks and photography. Honestly, I could stare at our photos all day thanks to Jodee Debes, and I’m glad I focused that part of our budget on photography rather than trying to squeeze in videography as well.” —Libby MacCarthy
