An Art Deco Wedding at the Carlyle Club in Alexandria, Virginia

Bridgett Finley, 29, an emergency room nurse, and Josh Doloff, 32, a postdoctoral researcher, met through a friend Bridgett was visiting from college and eventually started a serious relationship with each other. After seeing a three-hour production in downtown Boston one night, the couple exited the theater to find heavy snow falling with already at least six inches on the ground. However, that didn’t stop Josh from getting down on one knee on a slippery gazebo and asking Bridgett for her hand in marriage. The couple decided to have their wedding at the Carlyle Club in Alexandria, Virginia, charmed by the Art Deco vibe. Bridgett and Josh chose peacock feathers as the inspiration for the color palette of purple, blue and green, which Bridgett’s bouquet perfectly embodied. The couple had both Catholic and Jewish traditions incorporated into their ceremony to acknowledge both of their religious backgrounds. The wedding ceremony occurred under a chuppah that was built by the bride’s father and sewn by her grandmother, while an Irish blessing was recited to commemorate those who had passed away and were not able to physically be there for the special day. To pay tribute to both the bride’s love for visual performing arts and the groom’s history of playing in a band, the ceremony took place on a stage.
