An All-White Wedding at Caneel Bay Resort in St. John, Virgin Islands

Francesca Alfano (29 and a clinical nutritionist) and Stephen Stabile (37 and a wealth adviser) wanted to share their favorite romantic vacation getaway with their closest friends and family members, so they hosted their wedding celebration at Caneel Bay Resort in the the Virgin Islands. “Stephen and I traveled to St. John every year, and we both knew we wanted to get married there,” Francesca says. “The island has such natural beauty.” The couple kept their decor minimal and embraced a color scheme of white to let the tropical locale shine. The couple kicked off their destination wedding celebration with a welcome party, where they served food from their favorite restaurant, Ocean 362. “We also took our friends to Jost Van Dyke on a day trip the day before the wedding,” Francesca says. “Stephen and I love heading there for the day, and we were thrilled to do it with our closest friends.” The couple exchanged vows in a waterfront ceremony, which was followed by a tented dinner reception. Guests sipped spicy watermelon margaritas during cocktail hour. Then, for dinner, everyone feasted on mahi-mahi, Caribbean jerk chicken breasts, snapper, grilled organic veggies, sweet potato mash and leek and mushroom gnocchi. “Stephen and I wanted to dance under the stars, so our dance floor was set up on the grass overlooking the ocean,” Francesca says. The couple danced to “Is This Love” by Bob Marley and the Wailers for their first dance as husband and wife. —Marissa Hermanson
